Ideas, data and IP are critical assets for our clients. Recent developments in technology and regulation have placed greater emphasis on ensuring that data and IP is adequately protected and lawfully used.

Accessible, practical and tailored advice is critical to reduce risk and maximise potential opportunities.

Our knowledge and expertise on data and IP issues is sector-agnostic and our clients rely on us to understand the technology, data flows and uses cases and to apply the law to them in an accessible and usable way.

We work with our clients to:

  • ensure data and IP is adequately protected and used in compliance with applicable laws and licensing terms
  • navigate the consequences of new legislation impacting access to, and use of, data (e.g. the EU’s Data Act, the UK’s Data Use and Access Act)
  • navigate complex issues raised by the intersection of data and IP law and technology
  • provide advice and guidance on all aspects of privacy law compliance
  • draft and negotiate all types of agreement relating to data and IP including: licensing agreements, collaboration agreements, data use frameworks, data trusts and related structures.
